Rodney O'Bryant Pegues (born August 16, 1984), better known by his stage name Tropikana, is a local hip hop recording artist. Born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi, Pegues first became involved in music as a part of the group known as Untamed Piranhas. He received the nickname "Tropikana" from an elderly family member which means respect, power, humbleness. After performing at local clubs and events in 2012, Tropikana began to explore more with his music, which led him to become a solo artist in 2013. His appearance and ability to turn a story into songs, brought attention to his viewers. In 2015, Tropikana joined forces with a child hood friend, Joseph Barr, whom later became his manager. Together they created the LGI movement which stands for "Let's Get It." With help from Barr, Tropikana's music has really matured. Staying focused, Tropikana is determined to spread music to the entire world!
