Drumma SC is a pure, well-rounded representation of the Carolinas in human form. He embodies the struggle, raw passion, perseverance, and magnetism that keep people drawn to the highly underrated states.
James “Drumma SC” Little, hails from the small town of Cheraw, SC. Similar to others in his family; he was brought up in an environment which lacked the presence of a father. However, he was blessed with an exceptional mother and tight-knit family who filled that void.
“My family has always been the type to make ways out of no way. We all worked hard and sacrificed to help one another stay sheltered, clothed and fed in spite of financial hardships. We all did what was necessary for the good of the family”
Drumma SC began using art as an expression at an early age by first taking an interest in drawing. He was influenced by his older cousins, who had made names for themselves locally and first began writing lyrics after receiving a keyboard for Christmas. By age 11, he was regularly learning the songs of artists like Tupac, Notorious BIG and Method Man and recording himself rapping their lyrics over their instrumentals. While in high school, he and his friends would participate in freestyle battle sessions after school and record their live sessions over various instrumentals.
Drumma was able to use sports as an avenue to create an opportunity to be the first in his family to attend and graduate college and followed that path to improve his quality of life and socio-economic status. His focus was temporarily shifted from music to his wrestling career because it was helping to pay for his education. Once he transferred to Winthrop University, his focused returned to music. He then purchased a keyboard, recording equipment, began producing his own beats and worked to perfect his craft.
In 2006, he landed an internship as marketing assistant for the legendary group the Youngbloodz, (YBZ worldwide), which shifted to being the marketing assistant of the group member, Sean P, and Cornerstore Ent upon the focus of Sean P's solo career.
In late 2007, he joined forces with two other talented guys who possessed similar interests in music to form the group Transfers. They dropped their first studio album in the summer of 2008, led by the hit single, "Body Roll". The album became a local favorite, gaining a generous amount of radio spins in key markets and also generating a huge internet buzz.
Recently, Drumma SC has been the opening act for well-known artist such as, Future, 2Chainz, and Nipsey Hussle. Also, he has worked with notable super producers, Shawty Redd, MikeWillMadeIt, Ensayne Wayne, Sonny Digital, K.E. On The Track, and D. Rich. The release of his music video and song, "This Right Here", a visual depiction of his country upbringing in Cheraw, SC, officially kick started his highly anticipated debut solo campaign.
Currently, Drumma is preparing to release his debut solo project scheduled to be released May 13th, 2013, with lead single "I Do It" (Release date: 3-13-13) currently in circulation amongst the blog sites and various nightlife events.
