Absyte was submitted for a Grammy Award in 2023 - 65th Annual Grammies; While not nominated, J. Ivy submitted Absyte and has been a mentor in her life for over 25 years along with Coodie Rock from Chicago; Absyte will be releasing "Fly Agaric" as of May 31st, 2023, with a new single featuring Maurice Brown of Andersen Paak's Free Nationals band and many others such as Ray Angry of The Roots - Producer Monday's series. Ray Angry, Questlove and Black Thought are mentors of Absyte and have guided her path. Absyte has performed with Ray Angry and The Council of the Goldfinger at Nublu NYC for over 5 years (Pre-Pandemic) learning how to improvise and song write on the spot with no covers. This has been a rewarding experience for Absyte over the past 7 years since The Roots engineer Steve Mandel first started following Absyte on Instagram. Absyte has seen many ups and downs struggling at times to raise her daughter who is now a college graduate from Emerson College. Absyte is a Global Program and Product Manager by trade and has been doing music for well over 20 years professionally, first being introduced to music by her grandmother Dorothy Mae Mitchell (Rest in The Greatest Peace and Power) at the age of 4 years old.
