Skinney (Jason McKinney) Born: May 24, 1987 From: Greenville, SC Greenville bred artist Skinney started his musical career in late 2011. His style is influenced by artist like 2pac, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar & Drake. His music carries a message that is relatable to many people, and is strictly for the soul. Growing up in a decent home and going off to school at Morris College, gave rapper Skinney a very well rounded view of the world. He’s seen the content middle class life, and the struggles of the real world. With a lot of hard work and growth, Skinney has become a well versed artist. From his debut mixtape “In My Spare Time” to his most recent work, you can see major growth and dedication to his craft. He hopes to create a lane for all South Carolina artists, bringing awareness that South Carolina has lyrical artist too.
