Have you ever been captivated by lyricism? If not, F. Relic may not be your typical type of artist. The bar sippin, blunt blowin, south reppin MC from the city known as the “deuce dime” strides to mesmerize listeners through his complex lyrics and original flow; which is easy to determine with one listen to his upcoming full length mixtape “Track Casualties.” At a very young age, his parent’s Gary and Laurie noticed their son’s interest in music and saw how he was inspired and moved by it. Anytime or anywhere there was music playing, Brandon was either mimicking rhymes or dancing along. As he became of age, he was sure to appear in local venues around the city as well as school and community talent shows. “Growing up, my parents taught myself and my brother to always strive for success in anything we do.” Although, music played a major part in his life, he also showed interest in activities such as blunt smoking, poetry writing, and sports; basketball in particular. It’s safe to determine that music was a very influential asset in the May household but something of sentimental value would surely arise over a period of time for the “Future Relic.” Inspirational icons such as Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, and Earth, Wind, and Fire would spark May’s ambition for music. “I would watch Michael Jackson perform in front of thousands of fans and be amazed at how he touched and move so many people. I told myself, I want to have that same effect on people’s lives and I believe from that day forth that the music seed was planting within me.” Eventually, Brandon would start writing poetry and rhyming over beats, but it wasn’t until the age of 18 when he really started to commit and pursue his music. Although young in his career, F. Relic is on a mission to success. As the future artist continues to grind, he has not only captured attention locally but he’s gained listeners across the U.S.
