Mary Patrice Floyd (born November 17, 1992), known professionally as Mare, is an American singer and songwriter. Born into a musical family in Philadelphia, PA, she began playing piano at the age of 3 and is classically trained. She obtained her degree in Music at Eastern University. Known for her rich alto voice, distinctive sound and intricate riffs, she began her solo career in 2013. During a rough season of her life, she was inspired to create musical arrangements that soared beyond her imagination. The first arrangement of Television American Sitcom “Friends” theme song, "I'll be there for you" received 10,000 views. This led to her gaining thousands of followers, performing as a background vocalist and capturing the attention of artists "Sam Smith”, “James Fortune”, SWV members "LeLee and Taj”, and “PJ Morton”, just to name a few. She has performed at countless weddings, showcases and venues including World Cafe Live, BB Kings, Howard Theatre, TLA, and Philly Fashion Week. Mare currently performs as a band keyboardist and lead vocalist. As she gains her stance in the pop industry, she hopes to inspire people across the globe through her music. Her future dream includes the building of her brand "InMaryland" which signifies helping others achieve their musical goals.
